You are supposed to check your tyre pressures every 2 weeks but lets face it, you dont. Every time you go up a kirb your tyre lets a tiny amount of air out and not having enough air in your tyres uses more fuel and dramatically slows your car down especially at high speeds such as on motorways.

Most petrol stations have air pumps and a chart of most makes and models of car along with the correct tyre pressures. When going on a long drive or on a motorway you are allowed to put slightly more air in your tyres to give you better fuel economy.
It only costs about 30p and it will save you loads of fuel and money while increasing your cars performance.
